This Jetta is gone

Well I realize it has been a couple of years but I'm bored at work so I thought I would throw in an update/closing remarks on this car. The Jetta was retired due to the engine cradle starting to pull away from the subframe and a few other "major" body issues. I sold the rims off the car and ended up selling both the Carat I had on the road and the one I had for parts to a friend who wanted the "goodies" off of them. Eventually the cars were stripped and sold for scrap. I saved a few parts from each before I let the cars go. I've actually used a few bits here and there along the way with my other assorted cars.

I broke down and joined

I atually broke down and joined this damn facebook - I had like 40 people sending me requests to join so I figured what the heck... Turns out there is a pile of people on here and its pretty cool how you can tag yourself in other peoples images.

I just fixed a bug on my webcam page that was asking users to log in to "something" after a certain period of time - you should no longer see this message (and if you do let me know)

Bit of an update

I uploaded a few Lada pictures, as well as added pictures and an entry to my "Car List" for a Grand Prix I was given.

Weather Cam up again - but for how long?

Well people I have setup my "Weather Cam" again this winter - this time at my apartment. The refresh rate is rather slow, and currently I only have a trial of the program, but either way you can access it by clicking on the link below:

Lada is off the road for summer :(

Well unfortunatly the transmission in my Lada Niva went - first I couldn't find 2nd gear at all - then every gear but 2nd gear suddently stopped working. So I opted to take the Lada off the road and start driving the FireFly again. Hopefully this will give me time to get the 3.1L V6 into my Fiero.

Another Gallery

Because I have not been living at my parents place - and now have another computer setup - I opted to set up another image gallery in Truro where my other computer is. Life has just been far too busy to be trying to transfer images to this machine/server and do all the associated stuff remotely. Sooo if you have been wondering if I died or dropped off the earth or something of the sort, please check out:

Lada is on the road!

Well after a pile of work over the past months I finally have my new Lada on the road. The body work is far from perfect, the paint doesn't match and there is still some drive-line noise - but its on the road and road legal! I ran into a bit of a problem getting it safety inspected - a ground was loose for the headlight on the passengers side. That was all!

I am still waiting on a few parts such as a U-joint for the rear end, side marker lense covers and reverse and differential lock switches.

There is still no 5th gear but 4th is plenty fast to get in and out of town as well as get around town. Still a pile of work to be done but this is good start and a good milestone.

More stuff fixed

Wow - I just realized that all the back-ups I have been doing of my database for over a year havn't been complete. The Guestbook is cut-off from the most reasent back-ups that I have. Because of this the latest entry in my guestbook is from April 2004 - it is December 2005....

I fixed the image width in the image gallery - when you view the image it not falls within the width of the page, and when you click on the image it opens a new window with the full size image in it again.

With the above guestbook up and running I was also able to get the wish-list feature up and going again - oooo

Almost there!!

Well! A couple months later and I have the site almost up to where it was before the "upgrade". The Gallery is up and running again - and I went though and painstakingly added all images to the database again...
