One day while checking my e-mail I came accross a message from a person I went to College with. She informed me that her father was sending a van they had off to the scrap yard, and asked me if I wanted it. The one time I had been out to her house I fell in love with the van and did nothing but drool over it my entire time there. This is a section of my webpage dedicated to this van now that is belongs to me :-) |

1989 Ford Van: oops - something else to fix... |

Well frig. While trying to squeeze the van between an old Volvo we have and the Tree-Harvister that belongs to the guy doing some logging for us I got a bit too close to the Tree-Harvister... and to think, I made it through the 1st time ok... and the harvister was on the passengers side that time with no one to spot to see if I was going to clear...

1989 Ford Van: Pepper did the trick! |

Well as a last ditch effort the other day I remembered an old trick for stopping rads from leaking. You add pepper to the rad, somehow the flakes of pepper build-up over the leaking hole and stop the leak. And wouldn't you know it - it worked! Just after I got another Rad for it too.

1989 Ford Van: Any idea how hard it is to drive with no floor? |

THE VAN! SHE LIVES!!! The starter has to be engaged everytime by hand, but the van runs! It is idleing a bit high, and smoke is pouring off the engine, but the engine is most definatly not seized, but it is leaking water from the radiator quite badly.. but --- IT LIVES!! Check out the gallery (click the image to the left) to see a Vid!

1989 Ford Van: Yay! but damn damn damn... |

Well it doesn't look too good for the Van right now. I went back to see if I could figure out where the water was leaking out - turns out it did blow the frost plug in the rear of the engine - Which is good, but what is bad is this: When I removed the engine cover inside a good section of floor came with it, also - after I put some water and a battery in I can't get the engine to turn over - the starter clicks, but I fear the engine may be seized....
